What Does Naltrexone/Bupropion 8mg/90mg Treat?

Chronic weight management in adults with obesity (BMI ?30)

Naltrexone/Bupropion 8mg/90mg Dosage

Week 1: Take 1 tablet (8mg/90mg) by mouth every morning.
Week 2: 1 tablet twice daily; Week 3: 2 tablets in the morning, 1 in the evening.
Week 4 and onward: 2 tablets twice daily (maximum 32mg/360mg per day).

Serious side effects

• Liver injury (dark urine, yellowing of skin or eyes, upper abdominal pain)
• Angle-closure glaucoma (eye pain, vision changes)

Warnings & Interactions

Boxed warning: increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in young adults taking antidepressants
Do not use with opioid medications or during opioid withdrawal; naltrexone blocks opioid effects
Contraindicated in seizure disorders, uncontrolled hypertension, and eating disorders (anorexia/bulimia)
Do not use with abrupt discontinuation of alcohol, benzodiazepines, or other sedatives
Do not take with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of stopping one
Not for use during pregnancy; weight loss offers no benefit and may harm the fetus
Avoid other bupropion-containing products; monitor blood pressure and heart rate during treatment
